The fourth annual Australasian Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE) is set to be held in Melbourne on May 16, 2013.
For the last three years the event – which attracts over 220 hoteliers, suppliers and industry leaders – has been held in Sydney and for 2013 it was decided to give the event a rejuvenation, including a change of season and city.
Sofitel Melbourne is the host venue for the conference, which has been themed ‘Leadership Matters – the Leaders of Today and the Future’ by organisers Intermedia (publisher of HM) and Interpoint Events.
“We are excited to be moving to Melbourne for AHICE in 2013,” said HM magazine Managing Editor, James Wilkinson. “Not only do we want to give AHICE a fresh feel next year, we also wanted to give the hotel industry in Melbourne the chance to host what we believe is one of the leading accommodation conferences in Asia-Pacific.
“We are thrilled with the response to date for the change of city and season and the whole team are looking forward to hosting a world-class event in a world-class destination.”
Leading hotel management consultant Howard Kemball will return as host for 2013, while a ‘call for papers’ has been sent out to the hotel industry, giving hoteliers and suppliers the chance to nominate speakers for next year’s event.
Already confirmed as a keynote speaker is Carolyn Creswell, founder of Carman’s muesli bars and recent recipient of the prestigious 2012 Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award.
