A solid line-up of international speakers and new products has been announced for the Hotel Operations Technology Conference (HOT), being held in conjunction with the second annual Hotel Hospitality + Design (HH+D) 2011 expo, at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 14-16, 2011.
According to HOT founder and organiser Ted Horner, this year the topic spearheading the conference is ‘industry adaptation to a changing environment through changing technologies’.
He said HOT11 will demonstrate that as the social media revolution continues, organisations are finding new and innovative ways of connecting with their customers and reducing operational costs.
Major topics at the conference include: social web and ‘cloud’ computing opportunities; hospitality technology professionals demonstrating value and impact; and sustainable technologies and applications.
An Environmental Masterclasses will also be held, addressing energy, waste and water management in the hospitality industry and the impact of evolving technology in assisting sustainable environmental practices.
Horner said this is a timely issue and one not to be missed by representatives of the hospitality industry concerned about the industry’s environmental impact.
“Change and innovation is accelerating and for those of us in the hospitality industry it is a challenging, bewildering and exciting time,” Horner said. “New leaders are emerging with the vision to adapt or change their business models to embrace the opportunities created by the social web and ‘the cloud’.
“Overall we can promise two days of thought provoking sessions that will signpost emerging trends and prepare you and your organisation for the knowledge and information challenges of 2011,” Horner said.
The keynote speaker for 2011 is Richard Barnes, Editor-in-Chief of Cleverdis, who will give an address on ‘Planning for the Future TV Experience.’
