Luxury hospitality brand The Ritz-Carlton has opened its second hotel in Australia, with the launch of The Ritz-Carlton Melbourne on Thursday March 23.
The 80-storey hotel, set on the western side of Melbourne’s CBD, offers 257 guestrooms, three food and beverage venues, spa, and event spaces, as well as a Sky Lobby on the top floor.

Designed by Australian architects Cottee Parker, with interiors by Bar Studio, the hotel celebrates the country’s Indigenous stories and cultures from its ground floor art gallery, through to its Level 80 reception area, which features double-vaulted ceiling and windows all round to offer sweeping city views.
Rooms and suites feature dark wood and natural stone, hand-made glass panels, custom light fixtures and glimmers of gold. The Ritz-Carlton Suite spans the length of the building and includes a separate living and dining room, walk-in wardrobe, in-room sauna, and private pantry.
A signature Ritz-Carlton Club offers guests staying in Club Level suites a space to relax, work or socialise.
The hotel’s food and beverages venues include The Ritz-Carlton Lobby Lounge, home to the hotel’s high tea experience; intimate cocktail bar Cameo; and signature restaurant Atria, which features a progressive menu curated by Executive Chef Michael Greenlaw, in partnership with Culinary Advisor Mark Best.
The hotel’s wellness offering include a spa includes six treatment rooms, an infinity pool with city views, a fitness centre, and yoga studio.
There is over 2,500 square metres of customisable events space, spanning two levels of the hotel. The Ritz-Carlton Grand Ballroom features a floor-to-ceiling feature-window inspired by the Great Hall of Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria.
