Dorsett Hospitality International – one of Asia’s fastest-growing hotel groups – is expanding its presence in the Australian market with the opening of Dorsett Melbourne in March.
Located at 615 Little Lonsdale St at the southern end of Melbourne CBD, the 316-room hotel will be a key component of Far East Consortium’s $1 billion hospitality precinct, West Side Place.
Dorsett Hospitality International, Australian CEO Andrew Jessop, said the company is proud to be opening a new hotel in Australia’s cultural capital.
“Off the back of the success of our first Australian opening on the Gold Coast, it was a natural next step to look towards Melbourne which has seen an incredible bounce back in tourism since COVID,” he said.
“We look forward to continuing to grow our global footprint and to add to the Melbourne community.”
Rooms – designed by award winning architects Cottee Parker – are spread over eight levels and include pet-friendly and themed rooms to appeal to families.
“At Dorsett Melbourne, our guests will enjoy our intuitively designed social spaces, an executive lounge, and beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites, including pet friendly and family rooms,” said Dorsett Melbourne’s General Manager, Natalie Bussenschutt.
“Our caring and vibrant team look forward to welcoming you and sharing our local knowledge for an authentic Melbourne experience complimented by a memorable hotel stay.”
Hotel facilities include an indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, steam room, wellness room, and a gymnasium with the latest Techno-Gym equipment.
An exclusive executive lounge, which offers food and beverage service throughout the day and evening, provides a space for guests to work, dine or relax. These guests can avail of private check in/out, two hours complimentary meeting space, and a pressing service.
At the hotel restaurant, which features outdoor and private spaces, sustainability is front of mind with local produce featuring heavily on the all-day dining menu. While gold-themed Jin Bar offers a relaxed space to enjoy cocktails.
