Manly Pacific – Mgallery, a recent addition to the Accor portfolio, has unveiled the results of a $30-million-dollar transformation project after two years in the works.
The new-look hotel, designed in collaboration with Coco Republic, is described as an ‘an ode to the ocean’ offering ‘elevated coastal living’.
It includes a refreshed façade, 213 redesigned rooms, including an exclusive residence known as The Infinity Residence, and nine ocean-facing Coastal Suites, complete with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It also features a rooftop pool and bar, a sundeck with an infrared sauna, an eclectic new lobby bar known as 55 North, and a conference and events floor.
“At every touch point, we’ve considered the extra level of detail guests now expect from a great hotel experience, with a key focus on sustainability initiatives, such as smarter energy-saving room controls to electric car charging stations,” said General Manager Dylan Cole.
“We’ve brought a new level of sophistication to Manly without losing the quintessential way of life of the Northern Beaches, from its laid-back lifestyle and strong connection to the sea and wellbeing.”
Across the hotel’s eight floors and spacious hallways, natural light floods in and expansive views of the ocean are offered in return.
The soft and neutral colour palette takes inspiration from the natural beauty of the Northern Beaches as does the tactile organic textures and furnishings, pale bleached woods, and travertine stone accents.
The 177-sqm Infinity Residence is a one-bedroom suite featuring underfloor heating, a fireplace, kitchenette, ensuite with a black freestanding stone bathtub, a living and dining room, and a 100sqm private terrace with ocean views.
Guests are treated to a beach towel personalised with their initials on arrival, as well as customised pillows, fine linens, freshly cut flowers, LaGaia beauty products and their very own personal Beach Butler.
The Coastal Suites offer a menu of bespoke wellness experiences including access to a Peloton bike (upon request), Peloton classes, a yoga mat, resistance band and yoga block, Leif skincare, LaGaia facemasks, and the option of a motivational or calming playlist with Bluetooth speakers.
Every room features fresh foliage, natural stone bathrooms, quality bed linens and a nightly turn-down service, Smart TV with Google Chromecast, Bluetooth speakers and smart room controls, Leif amenities, and a minibar showcasing quality local producers. The rooms are spacious and offer separate entertaining, living and dining areas, balconies, or terraces.
There are also dog-friendly rooms available as well as one-bedroom Sun Lounger rooms that offer ocean views and deck chairs on a private 100sqm terrace.
The new lobby bar, 55 North, named in honour of its stellar location, has been designed by Luchetti Krelle and features timber veneers and paved autumnal marble and tiles throughout.
The hotel also offers two restaurants on site, Japanese-inspired Tokyo Joe and French dining restaurant, Bistro Manly by Executive Chef Ryan Dawson.
Guests can avail of the adjoining Manly Beach Health Club 24 hours a day, and the ‘Beach Club’ concierge team can offer personalised wellness experiences and packages, such as surfing lessons, kayaking, boot camps, beach yoga, facials, massages, and cryotherapy.
