Independent hotel management company La Vie Hotels and Resorts has signed a deal with Radisson Hotel Group and Sino Lanka Group to operate three hotels in Sri Lanka.
Under the agreement, La Vie will launch an upper-upscale Radisson Blu resort near Galle, and two upscale Radisson hotels in Colombo.
The three new properties will undergo substantial refurbishment and a rebrand to Radisson Blu before welcoming guests from May 1st.
“We have been wanting to grow our presence in Sri Lanka for some time now and we are thrilled to be partnering with Sino Lanka Group and to be completely revitalising these three outstanding properties and rebranding them to Radisson,” said La Vie Hotels and Resorts CEO, Jerry Xu.
“Radisson and Radisson Blu brands are the perfect fit for these three hotels which are located in some of the best addresses in Sri Lanka, and we’re pleased to be embarking on this chapter with the team.”
The announcement follows La Vie Hotels and Resorts’ recent launch of Quality Resort and Spa Patong Beach in March through a franchise agreement with Choice Hotels
Xu said that growth trajectory in South and South East Asia continues to be a major focus for the group.
Radisson Hotel Group President – Asia Pacific, Katerina Giannouka, described it as a “landmark agreement” as the group increases its footprint in Sri Lanka, what she says is “one of Asia’s most desirable destinations”.
“With a trio of world-class hotels including a city hotel in Colombo, a beautiful beachfront resort and an upcountry hotel in the cultural heartlands, Radisson Hotel Group will be established at the forefront of Sri Lanka’s tourism and hospitality industries,” Giannouka said.
Radisson Hotel Colombo is a 158-room stylish city hotel complete with rooftop infinity pool, gym, rooftop bar and restaurant, while Radisson Hotel Kandy features 122 contemporary rooms and suites, gym, rooftop pool, restaurant and bar.
Radisson Blu Resort, Galle is a beachfront resort with 172 rooms and suites with sea views, a large lagoon pool, kids’ club, fitness centre, spa and a selection of dining options, including a beachside restaurant and rooftop lounge.
Sino Lanka Group Founder, Bob Kundanmal, said he is proud to see the three Sri Lankan properties join the world-renowned Radisson brand and believes they will benefit from “the strength of Radisson’s distribution networks” as international travel resumes.
