IHG Hotels and Resorts has partnered with La Vie Hotels and Resorts for the first time to open Holiday Inn and Suites in Bondi Junction, Sydney.
The Spring Street hotel, which previously operated as Quest Bondi Junction, is already open and taking bookings but will undergo an extensive refurbishment to ensure all guest spaces, including rooms and lobby, reflect the Holiday Inn’s design and experience.
“A world-famous destination like Bondi needs a world-famous hotel brand, and there is no better-known brand globally than the Holiday Inn family,” said IHG Hotels and Resorts Director of Development for Australasia, Jael Fischer.
Holiday Inn & Suites Sydney Bondi Junction is IHG’s fourth hotel in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, following Crowne Plaza Sydney Coogee Beach, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay and Holiday Inn Potts Point.
“We are thrilled to extend our reach across Sydney and complement our stable of hotels in the Eastern Suburbs,” Fischer said.
The 82-room hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, complimentary gym access and guest rooms will feature kitchenettes, allowing travellers to cater for themselves if they wish.
Situated in the heart of Bondi Junction, guests can access shopping nearby at Westfield Bondi Junction and avail of public transport to Bondi Beach and the CBD.
The opening comes at a time of growth for both IHG and the Holiday Inn brand in Australasia. Now in its 70th year, Holiday Inn is refreshing its image with new design elements including its signature Open Lobby.
La Vie Hotels & Resorts is currently on a significant expansion phase across Australia and Southeast Asia, according to Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Jerry Xu.
He said the Bondi Junction property is just the beginning of a long-term partnership with IHG Hotels and Resorts.
“We currently have 22 properties in our portfolio ranging from midscale to upper upscale, and to be adding IHG’s renowned Holiday Inn brand to our stable of hotels is very exciting,” Xu said.
“The location of Holiday Inn and Suites Bondi Junction will provide both business and leisure guests the ultimate convenience in the heart of the eastern suburbs, and as consumer confidence returns to the travel industry, we’re excited to be offering guests a modern, contemporary hotel to base themselves when visiting Sydney.”
