An additional 45 years of industry experience has been added to the Tourism Accommodation Australia Board following the appointment of Jeroen Meijer and Shaun O’Bryan as the Association’s newest Directors.
Meijer currently holds the position of General Manager at Parkroyal Darling Harbour, to which role he was appointed in September 2018. He brings more than 20 years in the industry, having begun his career in The Netherlands and working his way across Europe and Asia-Pacific prior to joining Pan Pacific Melbourne and eventually relocating north to Sydney.
O’Bryan is the General Manager of two properties in the Hunter Valley – Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and the recently renovated Elysia Wellness Retreat – and recently chalked up 25 years in hospitality. Well established in the luxury accommodation space, O’Bryan’s work history includes time with The Ritz-Carlton and the Ojaj Valley Inn in California.
Welcoming the two new additions to the board, Tourism Accommodation Australia CEO, Michael Johnson, said the respected pair join at a critical time for the sector in Australia.
“As we all know, we are in the midst of a ‘once in lifetime’ pandemic and facing a critical skills shortage,” said Johnson.
“Jeroen and Shaun together bring 45 years of combined experience as well as new ideas and a new enthusiasm to the board as we continue to navigate this difficult period and lead our members into recovery.”
