Experienced hotelier, Fredrick Arul, has taken charge at Grand Hyatt Melbourne as the property’s new General Manager, Hyatt has announced.
Arul brings 20 years of experience leading hotels around the world to his new role and shifts to the Victorian capital from Hyatt Hotel Canberra where he was in charge from September 2015.
Beginning his hotel career at Hotel Excelsior in Ipoh in Malaysia, Arul has moved through restaurants in Switzerland and back to hotels, taking his career to properties including Hilton Kuching, The Regent Kuala Lumpur, Cascades Sun City in South Africa, Shangri-La China in Beijing and Melia Bali.
In more recent times, Arul has been based in Thailand, where he held the role of Assistant Vice President of Hospitality Services at Laguna Phuket and Banyan Tree Samui. He also ascended to the role of Executive Vice President of Branded International Hotels at TCC Hotels Management in Bangkok.
