Three new properties, all located along South Terrace in Adelaide, will be added to Event Hospitality’s Independent Collection portfolio as part of a slew of new management agreements signed by the group.
All three are owned by the same entity – 208 South Terrace Pty Ltd – and will see 280 rooms added to the Event Hospitality stable. The properties – two hotels and one motel – are all presently in various stages of an AUD$15 million renovation and refurbishment program, with each to be progressively unveiled under new independent brands between July this year and 2022.
As part of the rebrand, each property will also debut new F&B concepts which have been developed through Event Hospitality and are able to be replicated and tweaked to suit local markets.
The first to join the group is currently known as The Sage, which will open for business under its new brand on 1 July 2021. The motel of the trio will be reintroduced with its new operating name following a major renovation in the second half of 2021, while the third in the new collection, known as The Chifley, will also be reintroduced following an extensive renovation currently taking place. This hotel will resume operations under its new brand next year, Event Hospitality said.
Event Hospitality Director of Hotels and Resorts, Norman Arundel, said he was excited to be bringing the three properties into the group as part of the Independent Collection.
“This partnership shows just how much value we can add as a Group, from strategy and branding, to marketing and F&B development; in addition to leading hotel management,” Arundel said.
“The team are already working to develop a vision for the overall hotel precinct, with three unique and individually branded hotels. In doing this we are working closely with our owners to define each brand concept and articulate the guest experiences, all underpinned by market opportunity, comp set analysis and customer trend insights, so that we can deliver the strongest returns.”
The Independent Collection was launched by Event Hospitality earlier this year and, with the addition of the three new Adelaide properties, has grown its portfolio to nine, with a tenth understood to be in the pipeline.
