A series of elegant spaces of varying sizes and décor which can be used for private dinners, events, gatherings and other social occasions will be opened at The Hotel Britomart in Auckland.
Known as ‘The Libraries’, the spaces are located on the first floor of the Masonic and Buckland Buildings in downtown Auckland and will be open from May 2021. Guests and event organisers can book their space rental with a selection of food and wine pairing experiences hosted by the hotel’s Head Chef, Tom Hishon and wine expert, David Nash.
Available spaces include The Libraries Lounge, which is suited for guests hosting private dinners, with guests able to be seated around the venue’s stylish bar. The space is decorated by artworks by Ralph Hotere and Shane Cotton, coupled with the building’s historic brick walls which complement the backdrop.
Alternatively, guests can book The Chef’s Library, which is a smaller room capable of hosting parties of up to eight people. This room is located adjacent to the kitchen, allowing for parties to view courses and interact with kitchen staff as meals are prepared.
Another of the rooms is The Wine Library, which features a hand-crafted glass chandelier and high shelves loaded with hundreds of wine bottles. This loft-like venue suits events including wine tastings and private dinners of up to 12 people, with guests gathering around a central Kauri table.
Bigger groups of up to 50 people will be suited to The Papuke Room, which features native timbers and is a flexible space suited to cocktail functions, seated dinners, presentations or meetings.
“The Libraries are an extension of the unique and special offering at The Hotel Britomart and we’re proud to be able to provide a collection of memorable spaces that will make any event unforgettable,” said The Hotel Britomart General Manager, Clinton Farley.
