With the opening of the trans-Tasman quarantine-free travel bubble now just days away on April 19, hotels and airlines are gearing up for a busy few months of family reunions, holidays and business travel trips.
One of those is Air New Zealand, with the Kiwi carrier adding hundreds of flights over the coming weeks alone to cater for demand.
Air New Zealand’s Chief Customer and Sales Officer, Leanne Geraghty, says the new travel bubble is “such a step forward for the airline, the tourism sector and the populations of both Australia and New Zealand”.
She says there will be competition on the Tasman and the move is “such a positive step” for the aviation sector after an incredibly challenging 12 months.
