Scott Thompson has been named by Hilton as the new Cluster General Manager for its Auckland and Lake Taupo properties in the latest executive promotion from the hotel company.
Thompson, who brings more than 25 years’ in the industry to his new role, takes over the position from Adrian Teh, who was recently redeployed to Melbourne to become the Cluster GM of DoubleTree by Hilton – Flinders Street and Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street, which opens later this year.
A native Kiwi, Thompson will now take over management of the 187-room Hilton Auckland and the 113-room Hilton Lake Taupo.
In his previous role as GM at Hilton Taipei, Thompson oversaw the pre-opening and early operational stages of the 400-room Taiwanese property as well as the integration of a 3,100 square metre meetings and event centre. He has also served in similar Cluster GM roles in Hong Kong, Mumbai and New Delhi.
Hilton Australasia Vice President, Operations, Heidi Kunkel, congratulated Thompson on his new appointment and welcomed Scott back to his home country.
