Ten new hotel rooms will be added to the inventory at Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach as part of a complete overhaul of the hotel to be carried out this winter, the hotel has announced.
The 209 existing rooms will be redesigned, with a view to completing in October and reopening in time for the 2019 summer peak. As part of the works, all beds will be upgraded, with carpets and drapes refreshed along with a new colour scheme to complement the surrounding ocean and beachside lifestyle. Bathrooms will also be peeled back and re-kitted.
Operations will remain as normal throughout the refurbishment, with hotel facilities limited in their opening hours in order to minimise disturbance to guests.
Guest and public facilities will also be updated, with a new lobby and socially-oriented arrival experience. Technology will be upgraded in all meeting rooms, while new concepts and menu items will be devised for the hotel’s restaurants and bars.
IHG Sydney Central Area General Manager, Gareth Long, said Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach has been a staple in the city’s beachside community for some time.
“The refurbishment will elevate our offering to new heights, while retaining the warmth and character we are renowned for. The location, engaging and personalised service, matched with a premium accommodation experience will see the hotel become the go-to beachside destination in Sydney.”
