Marriott International has pulled back the curtains on the revitalised Brisbane Marriott hotel, which has now completed an extensive $20 million renovation and refurbishment.
Malaysia-based Duoz Design was engaged to modernize the hotel while still reflecting the building’s heritage and connection to the Queensland capital. All of the hotel’s 267 rooms and suites went under the designer’s proverbial knife, with new ambient lighting installed to reflect “a balmy Brisbane night” while a new colour scheme inspired by the Brisbane region was fitted across all rooms and public spaces.
Beds have been fitted with a bark-toned headboard, with neutral grey walls and earthy brown tones reflecting the hotel’s surrounding nature. Rooms now offer textured soft furnishings along with restored marble inside bathrooms.
In-room technology has also been upgraded with the new Assa Abloy Orion system fitted to allow guests to control room lighting and air-conditioning remotely via a fitted tablet system. Front desk staff can also adjust room temperature and lighting to suit guests from the lobby as desired upon check-in.
The hotel’s signature restaurant has been redesigned, with tables now available for foodies keen to overlook the grill. Diners can also be seated on high tables at MBar or dine al fresco overlooking the Brisbane river on MDeck.
