Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will open its first Ramada Worldwide-branded resort in Vietnam along a 2.2 kilometre beachfront strip in Ho Tram – one of the country’s emerging tourism destinations.
The 241-room Ramada by Wyndham Hp Tram Strip is under construction and due to open in 2019, located around two hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City in the country’s southern corner. It will be the brand’s first in the Southeast Asian nation and will be an upper-midscale outlet in an integrated beachfront resort sitting in part of a specially designated 164-hectare site earmarked for tourism development.
Sitting on a 5.3 hectare parcel of land, the resort will be 12 storeys in height to provide sea views from many rooms. Among the accommodation inventory will be seven two-bedroom penthouses and 36 three-bedroom residences, with families a key market for the property.
Facilities will include two outdoor swimming pools – one of which will feature a swim-up bar. A water-lined walkway to the beach will be built into the landscaped grounds. Guests will also have access to a fitness centre, two restaurants and meeting rooms for the corporate market. Nearby will be a convention centre, casino, shopping district, water park and The Bluffs – an 18-hole Greg Norman-designed championship golf course already rated as one of the world’s best.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, South East Asia and Pacific Rim President and Managing Director Joon Aun Ooi said Vietnam was one of the world’s most exciting and emerging destinations for tourists.
“The country attracted 7.9 million international visitors in the first half of 2018, putting it firmly on course for yet another record-breaking year – potentially exceeding the previous record of 12.9 million visitors achieved in 2017. To cater for this strong demand, impressive new developments are rising all across the country.”
Ho Tram is situated as a key destination near the proposed Long Thanh International Airport, which is due to become a new major leisure gateway for tourists across the Asia-Pacific. Wyndham is eyeing Vietnam as a key field for expansion as it plans to grow from one resort in the Wyndham Legend Halong Bay to a portfolio of six under the Wyndham Grand, Wyndham and Wyndham Garden brands over the next three years.
