Three new luxury safari-style ‘glamping’ tents have been added to the range at Tasmania’s Truffle Lodge as part of an expansion of the property, located around 45 minutes from Hobart within a truffle orchard alongside the Derwent River.
Now numbering eight, each of the glamping tents includes a king bed, indoor and outdoor lounge and luxury ensuite bathroom built within a converted water tank which features a rain shower.
The expansion also includes an outdoor bush bath, an expanded activities list for groups eager to explore the wilderness and a communal tent shelter for group gatherings and where all meals including a three-course evening dinner are served at a long table positioned in the orchard.
As the property begins its second season following its initial opening last year, the expanded activities list now includes adventures including fly fishing, downhill dirt biking, platypus viewing by kayak, bushwalking, 4WD touring, abseiling and helicopter tours.
“’We’re really looking forward to welcoming more guests for Truffle Lodge’s second season. Glamping with us gives our guests the opportunity to enjoy time out, authentic hospitality and adventures, taste fine local foods and wines and possibly sleep even better than they do at home,” said lodge owners Laurelle and John Grimley.
