Premier William, the hotel owner, engaged design agency Mostaghim and Associates to lead the refresh project and the design approach drew inspiration from the property’s prime location nestled between Darlinghurst and Woolloomooloo.
“The inner city market was calling out for a fresh, edgy and contemporary vibe which we believe the architect has delivered,” said Premier William Director, Phillip Wolanski.
All 115 rooms feature industrial finishes, 42inch flat screen TVs and rain-shower heads, while well placed touches of colour bring the space to life. An exposed hang-it-all replaces the traditional wardrobe while custom designed furnishings, such as desks and headboards made of plywood, create a vibrant new raw aesthetic. The use of these highly utilitarian materials reflects the honesty and simplicity that underlies the design of the hotel rooms. Views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera house are a surprise feature from many of the rooms. Double glazed windows, blackout blinds and ibis’ signature Sweet Beds, with 7cm-topper guarantees guests a restful night’s sleep.
With King, Twin and Family room configurations that can accommodate up to four people, free Wi-Fi and located in prime position just moments away from Sydney’s main attractions, ibis budget Sydney East offers travellers a Sydney stay that won’t break the bank.
A lobby was created where it feels just as natural to ask for extra towels as it does to order a coffee. It’s still an area for checking in and out but it’s also a social space, a refreshment area and a remote office if required. It has a relaxed aesthetic using a mix of classic French café furniture, vintage furniture, Persian carpets and mid-century lighting. Guests are encouraged to mix and mingle over a delicious all-you-can-eat continental breakfast in the updated café, enjoy fresh fruit, pastries and cereal, plus freshly brewed barista coffee for a budget price.
