In the laneway of Sydney’s historic State Theatre adjacent to QT Sydney now lies a hidden gem, PLR2.
The aromas of barista crafted coffee and one of the finest gruyere toasted sandwich now fills the historic Parlour Lane.
This hidden gem, hole in the wall coffee shop design by renowned interior designer, Nic Graham, combines the cutting-edge design and all the elements of crafting a great coffee.
“The concept for the PLR2 stemmed from the idea of coffee being considered by some as liquid gold said Graham.
“We also wanted to contrast the grit and grime of the laneway with a glimmering gold hole in the wall, creating a chasm in the streetscape.”
PLR2 is not about machines or the bravado, it’s all about crafting a great coffee moulded with a unique Sydney laneway experience. Perfect for those grabbing their coffee on the go, PLR2 has a succinct food menu with a handful of snacks such as Sonoma bread-based toasties and house baked patisseries. Serving one of famed coffee roasters Allpress’ most popular blends, Carmelo, PLR2’s coffee is lively and full bodied with distinct caramel flavours.
PLR2 in the State Theatre’s Parlour Lane off George St and is open Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 3.30pm.
