Recent guests of Rendezvous Hotels around Australia and New Zealand would have noticed a bit of extra fuzz around the place over the past few weeks. It was all in the name of charity, of course.
Twenty-two Rendezvous staff gave the razor a break during the month of November, and in doing so have collected a whopping $3,322 towards Movember.
Held each year, the global initiative raises vital funds and awareness of men’s health issues such as prostate cancer and depression, and last year the cause raised AUD $72 million worldwide (AUD$25 million in Australia alone).
“While we are normally focussed on growing business, Movember saw us shift direction for the month and focus on growing moustaches instead,” said Rendezvous Brisbane General Manager Justin Philip.
“Movember is not only a bit of fun but also an important initiative and we are proud of the 22 Rendezvous male team members Australia and New Zealand wide who put their best moustaches forward to help us raise awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer research.”
