The Novotel Barossa Valley Resort has completed a AUD$2.5 million refurbishment of its conference centre, meeting the growing demand for conferences and events in the Barossa.
As part of the refurbishment, lush, dramatic floral carpet now flows throughout the centre which can host up to 250 delegates.
Custom designed pendant lights made from the metal straps of wine barrels are a feature, as are hardwood timber slats on the walls and ceilings which add a sense of warmth and luxury to the space. Modern, portable fireplaces are also a highlight, giving a sense of theatre to the area.
“On the back of the award-winning ‘Barossa Be Consumed’ campaign by the South Australian Tourism Commission, there has been overwhelming interest in the Barossa as a business events destination,” said Novotel Barossa Valley Resort General Manager, Sarah Henderson.
‘It was this interest that was the catalyst for further investment in the resort, which last year saw us complete a refurbishment of our 140 guestrooms. We’re now very pleased to unveil the makeover of our sprawling conference centre and it has so far been receiving fantastic reviews.”
Rodney Harrex, Chief Executive of the South Australian Tourism Commission, said, “It is great to see the Novotel Barossa Valley investing to attract more conferences to the region. The Barossa is a premium food and wine destination which offers an amazing experience for delegates.”
The flourishing food scene has very much been a popular attraction for conference groups in the Barossa, which is home to food personalities such as Maggie Beer as well as MasterChef contestants Tracy Collins, Colin Sheppard and Callum Hann.
Situated in the natural amphitheatre of South Australian wine country, the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort boasts panoramic views of its world famous neighbour, the Jacob Creek vineyards, and is considered one of the most inspirational conference venues in South Australia.
A preferred location for business events with nine function rooms, the resort has an Endota Spa on site and the 18-hole Tanunda Pines Golf Course adjacent to the hotel, making it an ideal venue for upmarket incentives and meetings.
