Destination marketing, hotel loyalty programs and accommodation management will be hot topics for Best Western hoteliers attending the 2014 Best Western Australasia Convention held from 23 to 27 August in Hobart, Tasmania.
Running over five days at Best Western Hobart, up to 180 delegates will attend a series of inspiring presentations and workshops addressing the latest developments in revenue management, property design, sales and marketing and customer care.
More than 30 industry suppliers, including gold sponsor Telstra, will present their products and services at trade shows and off-site meetings during the event.
Best Western Australasia’s Chief Executive Rob Anderson estimates this year’s convention will deliver a AUD$500,000 boost to the Tasmanian economy, with plenty of sightseeing weaved into the five-day programme.
“This is the only major forum each year where our members can join together in one place and learn about what’s happening in the industry and the new ways they can boost their business profitability,” he said.
“But it’s not all work – we’ve got some exciting trips planned including a whole day wine tasting and touring Bruny Island or Port Arthur, which when you’re running a hotel fulltime, is a rare holiday treat.
“This will be a great experience for those who haven’t been to Tasmania before,” Anderson said.
Winners of the Best Western Australasia Awards for Excellence will be announced at a stunning gala dinner on the final evening with a silent auction running in tandem to raise funds for Best Western’s charity partner, World Vision.
