Business travel confidence in Australia is returning, according to the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.
Speaking to HM exclusively on camera at Carlson’s recent Asia-Pacific General Managers Conference at the Radisson Blu Cebu Hotel in the Philippines, the company’s regional general manager for Australasia and the Pacific, Peter Tudehope said the Australian election had made a significant impact on business travel.
“The momentum has changed,” he said. “And it has changed pretty quickly since the election in fact.
“A lot of corporate business has come back into the marketplace. Certainly the Sydney marketplace is as strong as ever and when I look around Australia at places like Perth and Brisbane, they have gotten a little soft in the last six- to-eight months and I think that will rebound now with the change as well.”
In the exclusive interview, which was conducted a day before the GMs Conference was struck by a magnitude 7.2-earthquake forcing the evacuation of the 21-story Radisson Blu Cebu Hotel, Tudehope also spoke about the refresh of the Radisson brand, performance in Fiji, growth in Victoria and much more.
