La Vie Hotels and Resorts is expanding its portfolio of boutique hotels with the opening of a new-build hotel in Sydney’s Surry Hills next month.
Owned by Cienna Group and managed by La Vie, Adge Hotel and Residences is an architecturally designed hotel that sits alongside the former Cambridge Hotel, which will also rebrand to Adge as part of a $65 million transformation of the site.
The complete Adge Hotel and Residences, which is expected early next year, will have a total of 242 guestrooms, and will include an Italian-style restaurant run by a notable chef.
Designed in collaboration between Tzannes and Team 2 Architects with interiors by SJB, Adge features bold colours and eclectic furnishings, reflecting the spirit of Surry Hills.
“We are thrilled to be working with the team at Cienna Group to open this wonderfully colourful, vibrant hotel, right in the heart of Surry Hills, and we believe Adge Hotel and Residences will become a true representation of the spirit and energy that makes this neighbourhood so special,” said La Vie Hotels and Resorts CEO and Founder, Jerry Xu.
“The collaboration between Tzannes, Team 2 Architects, and SJB has resulted in an architectural masterpiece that perfectly complements the spirit of this inner-city suburb, and with our commitment to excellence and our passion for delivering top-tier hospitality, we are certain that this hotel will thrive as a jewel in Sydney’s boutique hotel landscape.”
The first stage of the project features 93 guest rooms and 12 two-bedroom apartments. Each floor of follows a unique colour and style, while rooms feature bold carpets and pod-style bathrooms. Each apartment offers open plan living and dining, fully equipped kitchens and large wraparound balconies.
Among the striking artworks on display is a specially commissioned mural from Australian artist, Adrian Hing, at the hotel entrance, and an abstract steel sculpture by Anna Varendorff that uses neon lights to create shadows on the exterior of the building.
The food and beverage offering includes Soul Deli, an acclaimed Korean cafe which recently relocated to the lobby at Adge Hotel, embracing its colourful theme with retro furnishings, pink tiled tabletops and pale-yellow booths.
Located in the lobby of Adge Residences is the Japanese omakase restaurant, Raida Noda’s Chef Kitchen, which welcomes just eight diners at a time for an intimate Chef’s selection around the open kitchen.
