One of the world’s fastest-growing hospitality groups, Minor Hotels, will continue to expand its Australian portfolio, with the launch of two new global brands in Sydney and Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. 2025 will see the opening of NH Collection Sydney, as well as the anticipated debut of the first full-service Avani Hotel on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
Having acquired NH Hotels in 2018 when it was the fourth largest brand in Europe with 285 properties, it was a perfect brand alignment for Minor Hotels. While already a familiar brand to Europeans, launching the brand in Sydney will place the brand more firmly on the map.
Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel will join the existing portfolio of 5 Avani Residences properties across Australia and New Zealand, becoming the first Avani property in the region to feature a full-service offering, similar to that which can be found overseas.
The group is committed to the development of their Oaks, NH, NH Collection, Avani, Avani+ and Anantara brands in the region. They welcome working under HMA and Lease agreements, as well as Franchise Partnerships for their Oaks and Avani brands, offering owners and partners flexibility, creativity and support, backed by decades of expertise.
As owner-operators, they understand both the challenges and opportunities hotel owners face, and while they have enjoyed global expansion over the years, they have not forgotten their origins. They hold a unique space in the market, in that they are big enough to offer the scale and resources of an international group, yet agile enough to provide dedicated focus.
Minor Hotels is driven to form strategic partnerships with hotel investors and lenders to develop and support market beating performance projects.
Their extensive expertise in the Australian and New Zealand market stems from over 30 years of operating experience and a portfolio of 60 properties across the region.
