Family-owned tourism and hospitality business, Morris Group, is set to introduce an AU$88 million luxury hotel in North Queensland’s Townsville.
The resort lifestyle hotel known as Ardo, is reported to be the first luxury hotel in the area.
As well as 132 rooms and suites, many of which will offer sea views, the hotel promises world-class dining, a luxurious day spa, and a rooftop pool deck.
“We know that North Queensland has so much to offer as a destination, so there is huge demand for domestic and international visitors to travel here,” said Morris Group Founder and Executive Chairman, Chris Morris.
“But what we’ve discovered is there is still a gap in the market for luxury accommodation, so what we’re doing with Ardo is building on what we already do so well, providing another opportunity for high-end experiences in this very special part of the world.”
The property’s premium suites, positioned on the corners of the hotel, feature expansive balconies, while eight of the rooms also feature outdoor baths.
Rooftop restaurant Marmor will offer contemporary Australian cuisine, while ground floor restaurant, Terasu, will offer traditional Japanese fare.
Ardo guests will have access to amenities at Morris Group’s nearby resort The Ville, including its oceanside swimming pool with swim-up bar, gym and casino.
“While The Ville provides relaxed, tropical surroundings and casual sophistication, Ardo will offer a luxury accommodation experience for travellers seeking a more high-end stay,” said Morris.
“With Ardo joining The Ville, and the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on the Breakwater, what we’ve created will enhance the precinct, and become the region’s leisure and entertainment hub.”
Morris Group’s network of resorts and adventure offerings includes boutique Northern Escape Collection comprising Orpheus Island Lodge, Mt Mulligan Lodge and Beechmont Estate, as well as superyacht fleet, Morris Nautical.
