Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is set to grow its operational Australasia portfolio to more than 50 hotels by the end of the year with the announcement of four key signings as well as two openings in the region.
The business shared the announcement during the 14th Asia Pacific Hotel Industry Conference and Exhibition (AHICE), which takes place at the Adelaide Oval on May 3-4.

The signings include a 117-key Ramada by Wyndham Kings Head, Adelaide which is slated to open by end of 2024. The hotel will be built on the site of the former Kings Head hotel, which is one of the oldest historic pubs in Australia, dating back to 1848.
A 35-key Ramada Seafront Apartments on Fiji’s Coral Coast is set to open towards the end of this year. Located in Sigatoka, between the key cities of Suva and Nadi, the property will offer leisure guests access to the region’s great reefs, diving trips and water sport experiences.
Another Fiji property is on the way in late 2023 with the opening of Wyndham Garden Wailoaloa Beach, Fiji. A 90-key beachfront property, it will feature lounges and meeting spaces to appeal to leisure guests. It will continue to be managed by the existing operator of the current Ramada Suites by Wyndham Wailoaloa.
Across the Tasman, Wyndham will introduce a Wyndham Garden Suites property near the famous Lake Tekapo on the South Island of New Zealand in mid-2024. Wyndham Garden Suites Lake Tekapo is a 60-key hotel will be operated by the company’s longstanding partner Marsden Group.
This year, following on from the recent opening of Tryp by Wyndham Tory Street, Wellington, and Tryp by Wyndham Pulteney Street Adelaide in Q1 of this year, Wyndham is set to open it second La Quinta property in New Zealand.
La Quinta by Wyndham Ellerslie in Auckland is set to open in the fourth quarter of this year and will be followed by the opening of La Quinta by Wyndham Parnell, Auckland next year. Both hotels are being developed by longstanding partner Safari Group and will be operated by Safari Hotels.
Wyndham Wallaroo Shores Resort, located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia is also slated to open at the end of this year. The property will feature villa style accommodation, a variety of dining options and spacious meeting spaces.
