Luxury hotels company Belmond is expanding its artistic series Mitico to seven of its properties in Italy, Spain, the UK, and Brazil.
Following the success of the first edition in Italy last year, the partnership with Galleria Continua will unveil new installations at Castello di Casole, A Belmond Hotel, Tuscany; Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence and Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina.
Meanwhile legendary properties La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca; Villa Sant’Andrea, A Belmond Hotel, Taormina Mare; Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Rio de Janeiro; and Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, A Belmond Hotel, Oxfordshire will welcome installations for the very first time.
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Grand Hotel Timeo, A Belmond Hotel there will be a series of culinary experiences led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Roberto Toro at renowned Otto Geleng restaurant, overlooking Mount Etna. The hotel will also launch 150 limited edition bottles of volcanic wine in collaboration with winery Pietradolce Etna, with hand painted labels by local artist, Alessandro Florio.
La Residencia, Mallorca will introduce three emerging artists to its ‘Artists in Residencia’ programme this year. Each two-month residency will give artists a room and studio at La Residencia, a monthly living grant, as well as production funding.
Meanwhile, Caruso, A Belmond Hotel, Amalfi Coast will reopen for the season with a new Executive Chef who will celebrate the region’s gastronomic traditions with new menus featuring locally sourced ingredients from the UNESCO-recognised National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, an inaugural collaboration for Caruso.
