TFE Hotels is set to open three new-build hotels in the first quarter of 2023 as it kickstarts another year of growth globally.
Two of the three new hotels will open in Australia – in Melbourne and Adelaide – with the third to open in Switzerland.
Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne and Vibe Hotel Adelaide will be the first to open, in February 2023, with another Adina hotel to open in Geneva in March.
TFE Hotels Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick, said the Adina and Vibe brands are continuing their strong growth trajectory in Australia and beyond.
“In just 13 months, Adina – which is a proud, homegrown Australian brand – has launched the Vibe and Adina brands in Singapore and, with six new builds, expanded its portfolio in Europe to a total of 17 hotels,” he said.
“In Europe, this represents a growth of almost 50%, not least of all in Germany, where Adina Hotels is now represented in the eight largest German cities and all regions and is the market leader in the future serviced apartments sector.”
Adina Apartment Hotel Pentridge Melbourne, is located at the historic site of Pentridge Prison in Coburg, 8km north of the CBD.
The 110-apartment hotel – developed by the Shayher Group – is part of a fresh, billion-dollar lifestyle precinct which includes residential apartments, shopping, dining, and an outdoor cinema.
The heritage site takes on a contemporary design with a section of the former prison, known as Division B, transformed into the hotel reception. The hotel also features a modern glass tower, porte cochere, and a function centre at the prison’s former chapel, each with a nod to the past.
Vibe Adelaide, slated to open on February 14, is an 18-storey upscale hotel with 123 guestrooms.
Loucas Zahos Architects led the design of this hotel, with distinguishing details including open-plan bathrooms and floor to ceiling windows to showcase views of the city and the Adelaide Hills. The hotel also features a suspended bridge pool that connects the hotel to the neighbouring One Apartments. The property also includes a spa and sauna, as well as ground floor restaurant and bar, Storehouse Flinders East.
In March, TFE makes its Switzerland debut with the opening of Adina Apartment Hotel Geneva.
The hotel features 140 guestrooms – including studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment-style rooms – with picturesque views of the alps.
Set within an 11-hectare bustling retail and lifestyle precinct, the hotel will offer a fitness and wellness facility, 24-hour reception, restaurant, and multi-storey car park.
The hotel developer, PG Promotors SA, and owner, Claude Berda, are committed to converting the surrounding Quartier de L‘Étang into a mixed-use district complete with retail and office spaces, medical centre, student residences, conference centre, and three hotels.
“Overseas guests accounted for 82% of approximately 3 million overnight stays in 2017, however, the city has a very low proportion of apartment hotels to best cater to this style of traveller,” Sedgwick said.
“The fact that the market is not competitive in this space gives us an opportunity to position Adina Hotels as a long-term market leader in Switzerland, with Zurich, Basel and Lucerne other potential locations in the future.”
