West Hotel Sydney, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, has launched its first Christmas-themed rooms in a bid to provide a unique festive experience for guests.
The two rooms, created in partnership with Electric Confetti, transport guests to a Christmas wonderland.
“When you walk into the room, you’ll find floor-to-ceiling glitter wallpaper, life-size nutcrackers, giant candle bedside laps, tinsel and of course, Santa himself,” Hotel Manager, Nathan Kengike, told HM.
“To make sure your Instagram feed is as festive as possible, there are Christmas neon signs all over the walls. A festive treat is also waiting for guests in the rooms.
Kengike said the idea stemmed from a genuine love of Christmas, and a desire to captivate guests.
“At West Hotel we really love Christmas and wanted to embrace it, just like Sydney does, in all its glory,” he said.
“This year, we really wanted to do something different. Christmas is a time of giving – and by that, we want to give our guests the best experience they can get at our hotel.
“It’s something we’ve never done before at West Hotel, and we are really happy with the result.”
By creating a fun festive offering, Kengike is hopeful guests will create a buzz about the rooms on social media and ultimately drive bookings.
“Our ultimate goal is to create a fun, festive space where our guests can really get into the Christmas spirit,” he said.
“We also want to generate buzz on our social channels and across media – creating reasons for some of our loyal guests to come back, or someone new to book a stay.
“It’s so important – knowing how much our guests share online and how the shareability/Instagram-ability impacts decision-making. This was a key factor when creating the rooms – they’re bright, colourful, and 100% Instagrammable.”
Kengike there is increasing demand from guests for unique experience – not just for Christmas
“Our guests are looking for out-of-the-box experiences – especially in this new normal,” he told HM.
“There is a real desire to think differently and deliver different experiences.”
West Hotel also has an upcoming collaboration with its amenities brand, Mr Smith, in the works.
“We have created an exciting in-room experience with the products,” he said.
“This will launch in early December and the package includes a full-size gift set and other hair-care products.”
