Family-owned hotel group Lancemore has unveiled a multimillion-dollar redesign of Lancemore Milawa, its boutique property in Victoria’s High Country.
Award-winning interior designer Hana Hakim of The Stella Collective was enlisted to transform the property into a contemporary country residence that celebrates the region’s four distinctive seasons.
The new look includes ‘intricate detailing’, ‘plush finishes’ and ‘free-flowing spaces’.
“As a special part of our family’s hotel portfolio, we wanted to elevate Milawa on the global stage and deliberately sought to work with someone with the vision to do just that,” said Lancemore Group CEO Julian Clark.
“The hotel was first born as a dream of my parents and the Brown family winemakers many years ago and it is a great honour to continue that legacy for the next generation of guests to discover.”
The hotel’s 40 rooms and suites – split across two levels – feature polished concrete floors, bouclé daybeds or linen-covered sofas, custom timber joinery and commissioned artworks.
The hotel’s onsite dining space, Restaurant Merlot, is led by Executive Chef Aaron Jose who brings more than 20 years’ culinary experience from award-winning restaurants including two-hatted Momo. He introduces a menu of paddock to plate fine dining that heroes local ingredients.
The pool area includes hammocks, cabanas and sunbeds where guests can relax.
Located at the gateway of King Valley, the property is surrounded by wineries, boutique distilleries and food producers including Brown Brothers, Hurdle Creek Still and Milawa Cheese Factory.
