Marriot International is on track to open 14 new luxury hotels in Asia Pacific by the end of 2023, bolstering its presence in this competitive segment.
With 156 luxury properties currently in operation across 13 countries and regions in APAC, Marriott aims to grow its footprint in key cities including Tokyo and Melbourne.
“Today’s luxury traveller is looking for authentic experiences that are personalised, thoughtful and uniquely meaningful,” said Marriott International Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Asia Pacific, Bart Buiring.
“Our current portfolio of highly distinctive brands is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of travelers, and these expected additions reflect our optimism for the future of luxury travel.”
The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne will open in early 2023 and a Ritz-Carlton property will open in Fukuoka, Japan later in the year. In addition, Ritz-Carlton Reserve will introduce its fourth rare estate in APAC in the historic Chinese valley of Jiuzhaigou.
W Hotels will open its third hotel in Australia, W Sydney, next year, and the hotel brand will also be introduced to Macau in 2023. Meanwhile, St. Regis will debut in Goa on a 49-acre beachfront property, while St. Regis Jakarta is expected to open later this year.
Four new JW Marriott hotels will open across the region. JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites and JW Marriott Jeju Resort and Spa will open this year, while JW Marriott Goa Vagator and JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an will welcome guests next year.
Edition will expand its footprint in 2023 with a second location in Japan, The Tokyo Edition, Ginza, and the brand’s will make its debut in Southeast Asia with The Singapore Edition next year. Marriott says both hotels will set a new standard of modern luxury.
Marriott has also teamed up with luxury Italian brand Bulgari for the planned opening of Bulgari Hotel Tokyo in 2023. The hotel will feature 98 luxurious rooms including a lavish Bulgari Suite and renowned dining venues.
