Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels and Resorts have introduced Australia’s first Holiday Inn Express and Suites, with the opening of a Sunshine Coast property on Monday.
The 181-room new-build hotel in the heart of Maroochydore City, combines a suite/apartment style offering alongside regular hotel rooms.
“We are looking forward to seeing people check into the hotel and enjoy for the first time the suite offering which includes all the creature comforts of a self-contained apartment,” said Pro-invest Hotels Chief Operating Officer, Shantha de Silva.
“As travel around Australia resumes, people have been flocking to Queensland and rediscovering the region, in particular the Sunshine Coast. Having this well-known international brand in the heart of Maroochydore is going to be of great benefit to the community and we look forward to working with them and with industry, in driving further visitation to the area.”
The property features a rooftop pool, 24-hour reception with express check in and check out, a fitness room, two flexible meeting rooms and flexible workspaces, as well as self-service laundry, onsite secure parking.
In a first for the Holiday Inn Express brand in Australia, each of the 41 one-bedroom suites include full-services facilities including a kitchenette, small living area with sofa bed and coffee machines.
“We are incredibly proud to continue our great partnership with Pro-invest as they open another extraordinary IHG-branded hotel – the much-anticipated Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sunshine Coast,” said IHG Australasia & Pacific Managing Director, Matthew Tripolone.
“We are proud to be known for our culture of ‘firsts’ in this market, and to open the first Holiday Inn Express with a ‘suites’ offering in Australia is a testament to that spirit and our long-standing partnership.”
