Voco Hotels made its debut in the New Zealand market this week with the opening of voco Auckland City Centre on Thursday.
The 201-room state-of-the-art hotel is the result of a joint partnership between Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels and Resorts.
“As one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings of the year, the launch of voco Auckland City Centre marks an exciting period of growth for the voco brand as we see an influx of travellers returning to New Zealand,” said Pro-invest Hotels, Area General Manager, New Zealand, Fraser McKenzie.

Located on the corner of Albert and Wyndham Street, the hotel is part of a dual tower development that also includes the 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre which is due to open later this month.
The hotel includes an Italian trattoria, Mozzarella & Co, that operates all day on the ground floor, five meeting rooms, and a rooftop bar, Bar Albert, is set to open in mid-June.
Designed by interior architects, Richards Stanisich, the hotel rooms incorporate a palette of deep blues, charcoal greys and splashes of the signature voco yellow, while materials include warm timber and brass accents. Rooms also feature hand-picked artworks, smart in-room technology and stylish marble bathrooms
The accommodation is aiming for a Level 3/Level 4 Green Engage certificate by implementing a number of sustainable initiatives the use of bedding made from 100% recycled materials, filtered drinking water in guestrooms, aerated shower heads to reduce water usage and large, refillable bathroom amenities by Antipodes.
