Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific officially opened its corporate offices in Bundall, Gold Coast this week and marked the parent company’s rebrand from Wyndham Destinations to Travel + Leisure Co.
The new offices occupy two, newly refurbished floors at 1 Corporate Court in Bundall and includes ground floor café, Canteen Social, which offers subsidised meals for employees. Staff from both Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific and Travel + Leisure Co. will work from this space.
Following the 2021 acquisition of the Travel + Leisure brand, Wyndham Destinations is now a division of this company.
“Today, we celebrate as the world starts to return to travel and we proudly reveal the newly branded Travel + Leisure Co. Corporate Centre on the Gold Coast, along with our new Wyndham Destinations corporate offices,” said Wyndham Destinations President and Managing Director of International Operations, Barry Robinson,
“It has been a challenging time for the travel industry for the past two years, but I am immensely proud of the agility shown by our teams. It’s fantastic to see tourists returning to the Gold Coast and beyond.”
The corporate space is designed to suit the company’s new hybrid working model and puts employee wellbeing at the forefront. Each floor offers open space, greenery and chill-out zones with indoor swings and an office herb garden.
All staff members have been assigned an adjustable ergonomic stand-up desk and chair and have access to free yoga classes twice a week as well as subsided gym memberships.
Federal Member for Moncrieff Angie Bell MP was also on hand to officiate the opening of the corporate centre and reveal the new signage.
“I am thrilled to be here to celebrate the return to travel with the Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific team, who contribute so much to our tourism economy through their timeshare club, Club Wyndham South Pacific, and their Australian resort portfolio,” Bell said.
“Timeshare is a substantial contributor to the nation’s tourism economy. As reported in an AEC study released in 2020, the industry had an output of approximately $958.5 million in 2019. It directly supports over 4,350 FTE jobs in the Australian economy, paying over $300 million in wages and salaries, as well as producing $468.9 million in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).”
Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific employs close to 2,000 people across Australia and is one of the largest private employers on the Gold Coast.
