Mövenpick has debuted its second Australian hotel, with doors now open at Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer and guests now heartily enjoying the brand’s famous ‘Chocolate Hour’ among other gourmet delicacies.
Occupying levels 1-6 within the podium of a towering new development on the corner of Bourke and Spencer Streets in the Melbourne CBD, Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer features 172 well-appointed guest rooms offering premium bedding, blackout curtains and Yuni Beauty amenities.
Guest facilities at the new hotel include the ‘Miss Mi’ Asian-fusion restaurant and bar, Mövenpick café and ice creamery, while at the other end of the fitness scale, fitness centre, hot tub, sauna and a 25-metre swimming pool open daily until 10pm complete the guest indulgence.
Perhaps the brand’s most popular hallmark, the daily ‘Chocolate Hour’ from 3:30pm allows guests to partake in a variety of treats including chocolate petit fours, churros, mini ice cream cones and ice cream sandwiches. Guests can continue the delicacy with the purchase of their own chocolatey wares such as chocolate-infused cocktails or Mövenpick ice cream parfait.
The tower has been developed with Multiplex and long-time Accor partner, Fragrance Group Limited and is located across from Southern Cross Railway Station and within 500 metres from Marvel Stadium, Queen Victoria Markets and Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium. A third Mövenpick was recently signed for Brisbane, with the brand set to debut in the Queensland capital in 2024.
Accor Pacific CEO, Simon McGrath, said the company couldn’t be more excited to unveil Australia’s second Mövenpick hotel alongside Mövenpick Hobart, which opened in January.
“This investment benefits the local community by providing a choice of even greater accommodation options for visitors to Melbourne and for loyal Accor guests,” McGrath said.
“While the recent Melbourne lockdown impacted our opening date, it has also given us the gift of time to perfect the finer details of the hotel offering. We are confident Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer will entice more visitors to Melbourne as travellers, whether they are leisure or corporate, want hotels that offer authentic style and heartfelt guest service.”
