IHG Hotels and Resorts is celebrating its flagship InterContinental Hotels and Resorts brand reaching the age of 75 by throwing a monster of a birthday party and introducing some exclusive luxury packages for cashed-up travellers.

The brand’s new 75th Diamond Anniversary campaign has spurred the company to launch two ultra-high end $75,000 travel packages for travellers with a desire to seriously splurge and indulge in this special opportunity, with packages available until April 2022.

Packages are available at InterContinental Sydney Double Bay in the city’s eastern suburbs and includes a five-night stay in the property’s Royal Suite, complete with private butler service. Guests will also be able to enjoy a spa day and in-room mixologist masterclass as extra perks.

Outside the hotel, guests will enjoy a tour of Sydney Harbour on a private seaplane before being transferred by luxury speedboat to an indulgent picnic lunch in an exclusive location. The stay is capped off with the opportunity to design a bespoke piece of jewellery with Tarick K’dor from family-owned luxury jewellery brand, House of K’Dor.

Alternatively, the second package on offer is available at InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in North Queensland. Also priced at $75,000 per couple, the stay begins with a private helicopter transfer to Hayman Island for five nights in the Hayman Beach House. While at the resort, guests will be treated to a Chef’s Table dining experience and a Dining under the Stars experience with champagne, wines and a daily gourmet breakfast.

Holiday activities at the guests’ disposal will include a two-hour private sunset sail in Hayman waters, a private Great Barrier Reef tour and a helicopter tour to Whitehaven beach, Reefworld and a fly-over the region’s famous ‘Heart Reef’. A reserved private poolside cabana will be available for guests to use at their leisure, with a variety of spa treatments also able to be enjoyed.

IHG Senior Vice President, Global Marketing for Luxury and Premium Brands, Jane Mackie, said the company was proud to raise a glass with its owners, partners, colleagues and guests to celebrate everything the InterContinental brand stands for.

“The InterContinental brand has been part of many special moments throughout its storied 75-year history and continues to be a place for celebration, connection and indulgence,” Mackie said.

As part of the celebrations, IHG Hotels and Resorts will also donate US$75,000 to Water.org as part of its ‘Journey to Tomorrow’ environmental initiative. The donation will help up to 15,000 to gain access to clean water through a range of sustainable and locally owned initiatives taking place around the world.
