Two more hotels in the Accor Sydney network have introduced luxury fine dining experiences for guests to experience at home, following the runaway success of its virtual wine and dine service at the Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney.
The virtual experience is designed for guests to enjoy a five-star meal service in their homes during the COVID-19 lockdown and sees a four-course meal box from the hotel’s Tayim restaurant delivered to guests’ homes along with up to four bottles of matched wine and interactive demonstrations on how to prepare the boxed items to a standard similar to the hotel’s service.
Now, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour and Pullman Sydney Olympic Park have joined the at-home dinner parties, with guests able to order meal kits to prepare a French feast or family dinner box to collect from the hotel and enjoy at home.
Sofitel’s popular ‘Aterlier at home, by Sofitel’ experience features a variety of cook-at-home French dishes, consisting of entrees, main courses and desserts, all with preparation instructions. Boxes can be ordered seven days per week but require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.
Items that may arrive in the box include Marseille Rock Fish Soup with garlic croutons and homemade aioli; Braised lamb shank polenta cake with broccolini, artichoke and olive, or desserts such as a traditional style Pot De Crème Tatin with diced apple caramel.
Further west, Pullman Sydney Olympic Park has released a selection of takeaway boxes, with guests able to decide from lamb, seafood or roast chicken boxes or alternatively, a charcuterie grazing box, high-tea dessert selection or cheesecake assortment. Boxes can feed a family of four and must be ordered 24 hours ahead and paid in advance.
