Accor’s regional portfolio has been boosted further, with the company adding South Australia’s picturesque Gulf St Vincent region to the BreakFree network in a new franchise agreement with New Terry Developments.
The new BreakFree Wirrina Cove Resort features 87 rooms and is positioned as a comfortable and convenient property for leisure travellers seeking an escape from the city or business travellers in the nearby McLaren Vale region.
The property is located around 70kms south of Adelaide and sits on 200 acres overlooking the nearby Gulf St Vincent, surrounded by national parks, beaches, waterfalls and native animal life.
BreakFree Wirrina Cove is also one of the closest accommodation offerings to Cape Jervis, located at one end of the SeaLink passenger ferry service between mainland Australia and Kangaroo Island.
Resort features include an 18-hole golf course, conference and event facilities, bar and café, fitness centre, swimming pool and car parking. BreakFree Wirrina Cove Resort owner, Andie Xu, said the resort is preparing to expand its facilities with a new restaurant along with various new types of guest accommodation including hotel rooms, serviced apartments and holiday homes. A retirement village elsewhere in the grounds is also under consideration.
Accor Pacific CEO, Simon McGrath, said he was proud to open a BreakFree resort in the Gulf St Vincent region of South Australia.
“This resort will play a key role in further elevating the area’s profile and its attractiveness as a leisure and business destination,” he said.
“New Terry Developments should be very proud of the long-term investment they have made into the future of tourism the area, and we look forward to enjoying a successful partnership together.”
