Accor’s upscale brand Mercure has opened a highly colourful new location designed for business and leisure travellers along Auckland’s busy Queen Street in the CBD.
Mercure Auckland Queen Street features 96 rooms and is located close to the Auckland City Town Hall, Civic Theatre and Aotea Square. The boutique design features elegant wall panelling, fabrics and a bright and inviting colour scheme reflecting the city’s modern and vibrant local culture.
Room facilities include free WiFi, smart televisions and an ergonomic desk. Guests in deluxe rooms can enjoy city views with a modest balcony. Interconnecting rooms are available for families and larger groups along with a number of accessible rooms.
Additional guest facilities at the new hotel include The Basement Restaurant and Bar, which serves a menu of Italian and Mediterranean inspired dishes. Guests can also avail a fitness centre and a boardroom for meetings or corporate luncheons.
Accor Pacific CEO, Simon McGrath, said he was excited about the guest experiences the new Mercure would provide to guests from near and afar.
“We are proud to open a Mercure on Queen Street in vibrant Auckland, a wonderful addition to our portfolio of properties,” he said.
“Our Accor Live Limitless customers will enjoy the building’s incredible location, personality, charm and outstanding service. The hotel has been developed with skill and thoughtful detail and will enrich Queen Street and the city’s accommodation and bar scene for our growing customer base.”
The new Mercure is the latest property to open for Accor in New Zealand, with the portfolio featuring over 40 properties across 14 brands.
