Marriott International has elevated Will Blakelock to its senior leadership team in charge of revenue strategy for Australia and New Zealand, the company announced today.
The internal promotion sees Blakelock assume the role of Area Director of Revenue Strategy – Australia, New Zealand and Pacific. His new role will see him take overall responsibility for revenue management strategy and driving performance for all Marriott International hotels across the three markets in this region.
Blakelock moves into the role from his former position as Director of Revenue Management at Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park. In prior roles, Blakelock has worked in similar roles at hotels around the world, including at W Amsterdam and as a Cluster Director of Market Strategy in Prague. He has been with Marriott International since 2004 when he began in the Reservations Office in the UK.
Marriott International Area Vice President, Sean Hunt, congratulated Blakelock on his appointment and said he was proud of the new addition to the regional leadership team.
“Will has been a high-performing and valued employee of Marriott International over the last 16+ years and has worked extensively in our international network and more recently in Australia,” Hunt said.
“Our internal training and development programs allow us to develop the skills of our team members as they move through to senior management positions. I congratulate Will on his well-deserved appointment.”
The company said it was proud of its career progression framework for associates, with training and development programs in place to grow the skills of its high-performing employees around the world.
