Boutique and micro-apartment operator, Veriu Group, has tapped further into the growing suburban corporate traveller environment in Melbourne with its latest opening – Punthill Caroline Springs – opening doors to guests.
The 80-key apartment hotel has been built in partnership with local developer, Geopec, and is located close to a number of nearby business parks and industrial sites. The property features a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom apartments.
Each self-catering apartment features its own kitchen, balcony and work station along with high-speed WiFi. Guests can take advantage of a conference and business centre, fitness centre and self-serve laundry, with a supermarket and restaurants at the adjacent Springlake shopping centre.
The new property – the 12th Punthill branded property in Australia – marks the first opening for the Veriu Group since the ribbon was cut at Veriu Green Square, just a few weeks before the nation was placed in lockdown amid the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Punthill brand now comprises 1,450 rooms across 23 sites – of which 11 are in the development pipeline.
Veriu Group CEO, Zed Sanjana, said it had been a challenging 14 months but that the brand’s newest opening was a welcome sight.
“We’re extremely pleased to be adding Punthill Caroline Springs to our existing portfolio, with the hotel specifically situated to take advantage of a vast key corporate catchment area in Melbourne’s West, currently quite underserviced in terms of quality corporate accommodation,” Sanjana said.
“Like all properties in our group, it’s ideally positioned to be able to provide both corporate and leisure guests with premium accommodation in an accessible and convenient location.
“Just as importantly, Punthill Caroline Springs significantly raises the bar in comparison to other properties in our existing portfolio, embodying a new generation of Punthill Apartment Hotels and sets the tone for many more to come.”
