Sydney will become the fifth Australasian city to welcome Marriott International’s playful value-driven brand, Moxy Hotels, with the company announcing a new agreement had been signed for the brand to debut at Sydney Airport in early 2023.
The deal with RF Corval and KS Hotels and Resorts will see the hotel showcase all of the colourful brand hallmarks for which Moxy has become renowned via its upcoming openings in Melbourne, Perth, Queenstown and Auckland.
Situated on Baxter Road, Moxy Sydney Airport will feature 301 stylish guest rooms which guests will be able to adapt to their needs, accessed via their arrival at an energetic ground-floor bar which will double as the reception desk. An all-day industrial-themed café will headline the hotel’s dining offering, featuring a wide-ranging menu of healthy and tasty bites. Guests will also be able to make use of a fitness centre and self-serve laundry.
A variety of meeting and co-working spaces will help facilitate meetings and small events, designed as a lively and inviting space to gather with colleagues and friends.
Marriott International Senior Director, Hotel Development Australia, Richard Crawford, said Moxy is one of the fastest growing brands in the Australasian region.
“The scale of this project, and its prominent location at the entrance to Sydney Airport is set to position the hotel as an icon for the Moxy brand in Asia Pacific,” Crawford said.
“We are thrilled to sign the agreement with this ownership group who together, have the dynamism to deliver what will be a world-class example of our next-gen focused Moxy brand.”
RF Corval Head of Hotels, Chris Boys, said he was excited to partner with Marriott on delivering a new cornerstone hotel for the Mascot area.
“We are pleased to announce our first development in the hotel space marking the beginning of our design-led, lifestyle hotels strategy,” Boys said.
