Hospitality investor and operator, Mulpha Australia, has partnered with Spanish technology firm HUB OS to bring its self-titled hotel operating system to the Australian market.
The cloud-based operating system, first initiated in 2015, is already a dominant player in the European market, with more than 600 hotels in 30 countries utilising the software. The integrated system facilitates operation of all aspects of a hotel’s operation into one system, including housekeeping, quality control, food & beverage, engineering and energy management, backed by real-time instant messaging capability between operating devices.
Mulpha has migrated many of its Australian properties onto HUB OS, including InterContinental Sydney, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove and InterContinental Hayman Island Resort in North Queensland.
According to HUB OS, hotels which have fully implemented the system have recorded faster response times and boosted guest satisfaction scores, along with a 10% reduction in room cleaning times and 60% jump in room quality inspections. Further, guests have reported on average a decline of 12 minutes in response times for corrective maintenance requests.
The software facilitates electronic check-in, which in turn helps hotels allocate serviced rooms and direct housekeeping staff to a particular room to maximise guest service.
Mulpha Group CEO, Greg Shaw, said that based on the company’s research, no other system was capable of powering hotel operations from a single platform.
“This presents a unique opportunity to achieve transformative operational efficiencies and cost savings at a time the industry needs innovative solutions. We have already seen this occur in our three flagship InterContinental Hotels in Sydney, Hayman Island and Sanctuary Cove.”
Mulpha Head of IT, Annelle Paemaa said the company had been able to replace four existing operating systems, which has cut costs on training and implementation time.
