Victoria’s Latrobe Valley has a new accommodation player in the form of Mantra Traralgon after Accor and the LA Hotel Group this week opened the newbuild hotel to guests.
Located around 165kms south-east of Melbourne, the new Mantra Traralgon is designed for regional business travellers and holidaymakers to the area. The AUD$18 million development features 50 rooms and is located directly across from the town’s major retail precinct, forming part of a larger entertainment complex which also offers a cinema, ten-pin bowling centre and restaurant.
The hotel will be led as General Manager by Andrew McDonald, who also serves as LA Group Hotel Director and said he was proud to bring the Mantra name to the Gippsland region of Victoria.
“Mantra Traralgon sets a new benchmark in accommodation and meeting facilities in the Gippsland region,” McDonald said.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Accor, who are the market leader of accommodation in Australia, under a franchise agreement. Accor’s Mantra brand is the ideal fit for our hotel and we’ve enjoyed working with their team to create a hotel that is both contemporary and welcoming.”
On-site facilities at the new hotel include a ground-floor café and bar, meeting and conference facilities for up to 30 delegates, high-speed WiFi and on-site car parking.
Mantra Traralgon is the first new hotel in the area in more than a decade, with Accor Pacific CEO, Simon McGrath, saying the new hotel would be a sure hit among locals and visitors.
“This hotel will play a key role in further elevating Traralgon’s profile and its attractiveness as a leisure and business destination,” McGrath said.
“LA Hotel Group should be very proud of the long term investment they have made into the future of tourism in Traralgon and the greater Latrobe Valley, and we look forward to enjoying a successful partnership together.”
