More than 50,000 apartments, villas and chalets around the world have been brought together by Accor in a new website dedicated to the company’s 15 extended stay hotel brands.
The new ‘Apartments and Villas’ portal makes Accor’s global inventory operating under brands including Mantra, Adagio, Hyde Living, onefinestay and more are included. Privately owned branded residences in properties operating under the Raffles, Banyan Tree, Delano, Fairmont and SLS labels are also featured as managed rentals.
Accor currently operates 30 branded residences globally, with 70 more in the pipeline.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Accor says the last decade has seen the extended stay and residences sector grow by 170% and that it expects 2020 to be another record year in the residences and extended stay sector overall, with more than 100 new projects opening, according to the 2020 Spotlight on Branded Residences report from global real estate analyst, Savills.
Bookings made through the new website by members of the ALL – Accor Live Limitless loyalty program will also be able to earn points while also enjoying flexibility on the booking and Accor’s AllSafe hygiene and cleanliness program, which is now active across its entire portfolio.
Accor Senior Vice President Development, Residential and Extended Stay, Jeff Tisdall, said the launch of the Apartments and Villas website demonstrates the company’s ambition to develop dedicated offers and solutions for the extended stay market.
“The launch of [the site] is an important milestone for our investment partners, guests and private residence owners, and further reinforces Accor’s leadership position in extended stay hotel and branded residence segments,” he said.
According to the Savills report, several major global markets are reporting a growing interest among residents to grow their primary living space – a move which could be spurred by the growing trends of working from home highlighted by the pandemic.
“We see increasing demand for residentially designed short term rental accommodations, as consumers seek out accommodations which enable more privacy and self-sufficiency and include features like extra living space and generous outdoor space,” said Savills Head of International Development Consultancy, Riyan Itani.
