While the kids play, adults can indulge in wine tasting and cooking demonstrations.

Activities including retro video games, racing simulators, arcade games and karaoke systems are now available at Element Melbourne Richmond as part of a new Staycation initiative.

The initiative, introduced for newly unshackled Victorians to enjoy their ‘Ultimate Sleepover Experience’, sees eight rooms on the hotel’s top floor converted into the games area with a meeting room also modified to install a pop-up cinema with classic movies on rotation and fresh, free popcorn to all guests.

Downstairs in the hotel’s public areas, a 3D car racing simulator has been set up for guests and visitors to enjoy along with pool tables, table tennis and even igloos where the hotel will host wine tasttings, cocktail masterclasses and cooking demonstrations.

Eight rooms on the top floor have been converted to games rooms, including a racing simulator room.

All activity facilities used during the Ultimate Sleepover promotion will be cleaned and sanitised every hour, the hotel says, with signage posted to remind guests of social distancing requirements. No more than four people will be permitted in rooms to ensure public safety – except for 16 in the meeting room cinema – with wipes provided for guests to use prior to using any equipment. Individual bottles of hand sanitiser will also be available in the hotel’s lobby and will be distributed to guests using any of the activities.

Element Melbourne Richmond General Manager, Harry Singh, said it had been a long few months for Victorian residents, with eased restrictions calling for a celebration in a safe way.

Movies can be enjoyed on rotation with free popcorn available to all guests.

“Following the success of our recent hot tub and silver screen package before lockdown, we wanted to expand Element Melbourne Richmond’s offering further,” Singh said.

“Enter the Ultimate Sleepover Experience, which is intended to be a one-stop-fun-shop for those of all ages looking to get out of the house, reconnect with friends and family and enjoy some well-deserved down time.”

The activities and games are available from 11am to 10pm daily until early next year.
