Three key senior personnel movements have been announced at Skye Suites – the hotel division of real estate developer, Crown Group – with a view to steering the brand out of the pandemic and in a new and prosperous direction.
The brand has recruited David Bowen as its new Director of Hotels, who will be tasked with expanding the brand further around Australia and internationally in addition to managing the current portfolio of three locations in Sydney, Parramatta and Green Square. Bowen joins Skye Suites from nearly five years at Lendlease where he served as National Operations Manager, but brings nearly two decades in hospitality to his new role.
Skye Suites has set its sights on expanding into Brisbane, Melbourne and internationally into Los Angeles and Indonesia.
Joining alongside Bowen is Skye Suites’ new Revenue Manager, May Toh, who joins the organisation with 13 years’ experience with brands including Daydream Island Resort, Shangri-La Sydney and the Westin Sydney. Along with overseeing revenue, Toh will set corporate revenue targets and drive loyalty members towards corporate goals.
Bowen and Toh will be supplemented further by Skye Suites’ Sales Director, Ari Foo, who joined the company earlier this year and is firmly engaged in sales initiatives and strategies for the brand’s existing portfolio.
Crown Group CEO, Iwan Sunito, said the path forward would be made easier with the right team behind its cause.
“While many other CBD hotels have reported significant losses this year as a result of COVID and the rise in regional hotel stays, Skye Suites has been bucking the trend and defying the odds with strong occupancy levels,” he said.
“I believe this is a testament to not just the facilities, affordability and uniqueness of our suites but also to our dedicated staff across the three Skye Suites properties.”
