Pro-invest Group has opened its first airport hotel location, today welcoming guests for the first time to Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport.
The hotel – located a few minutes’ walk from the domestic terminal – is an eight-storey, 247-room newbuild featuring aeronautical artwork throughout guest rooms and public spaces headlined by two enormous vintage propellors at the lobby entrance. Guests will feel the airport experience within the hotel itself as it features similar signage to the nearby terminals, right down to arrival and departure signage in the guest bathrooms.
Wall artwork in the fitness centre and meeting rooms has been designed to reflect airport runways, while the business lounge is aimed at replicating a similar airport facility.
Pro-invest Group CEO, Ronald Barrott, said the opening of the Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport was perfectly timed to suit the steadily growing return of air travel.
“With the Trans-Tasman travel bubble established between Sydney and New Zealand, and international arrivals increasing, we expect demand for this type of accommodation to grow,” he said.
Leanne Harwood, Managing Director Australasia for InterContinental Hotels Group – parent brand of Holiday Inn Express – said she was thrilled at the growth of the brand since its local debut in 2016 through to its first airport location today.
The growth is a wonderful testament to our ongoing partnership with Pro-invest Group, especially as we seek out new locations for savvy travellers who are looking for reliable, quality, and importantly, safe accommodation.”
Hotel dining consists of a ‘Grab and Go’ convenience bar offering snacks, beverages and a 24/7 barista coffee bar. Guest facilities also include two meeting rooms, business centre, self-service laundry and on-site carpark.
Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport is the seventh in the Pro-invest portfolio opened since 2016, joining stablemates I Sydney Macquarie Park, Brisbane, Adelaide, Newcastle, Melbourne Southbank and Queenstown in New Zealand.
