Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is continuing its march toward a milestone of 50 properties in Australasia, announcing a new franchise agreement with Monopoly Property Group to rebrand a resort on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula.
The newbuild resort, which marks the brand’s entry into the state, will be known as Wyndham Wallaroo Shores Resort upon its opening, scheduled for 2023.
Accommodation options include 100 villas, which will sit as part of the AUD$220 million ‘Wallaroos Shores’ mixed-use project around two-hours’ drive from Adelaide. The Yorke Peninsula is an area renowned for its boating, fishing and outdoor lifestyle and recreation activities including cycling and scenic hikes.
Guest facilities will include a 42-seat boutique theatre, swimming pools, tennis courts, a fitness centre, BBQ area and function centre seating up to 150 people.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts President Asia Pacific, Joon Aun Ooi, said he was proud to be introducing the brand to South Australia.
“With its exceptional location on the Copper Coast and outstanding facilities, this resort will become a favourite with holidaymakers and corporate retreats seeking a peaceful respite away from the city,” he said.
Monopoly Property Group CEO, Alex Paior, said the collaboration with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts was an important vote of confidence in South Australia’s regional tourism picture.
“Given the location and style of our resort, we feel that the upscale Wyndham brand is a strong choice and a great fit for us,” he said.
“We are thrilled to join the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts network and look forward to leveraging its strong global presence and loyalty program to elevate the profile of Wallaroo as a destination for international and domestic travel.”
